## What it is

A repository of small programs, one per chapter of the Rust book, with comments on what surprised me coming from Java: ownership, lifetimes, and how much the compiler is willing to argue.

## Why

Rust is the language I reach for when I want control close to C, with the compiler catching my memory bugs. Reading the book properly, with code for every chapter, was the way to stop pretending I knew it.

## Status

Paused. The C I read now is at work, so the evenings go to writing instead. I will pick up the next chapters later.
